Cumberland Mayor Jeff Mutter Endorses Keith Hoffmann for Attorney General

Blackstone Valley mayor cites independence, experience, public safety, and partnership with municipalities

CUMBERLAND, RI - Cumberland Mayor Jeffrey J. Mutter today endorsed Keith Hoffmann for Attorney General, adding the support of one of the Blackstone Valley's most prominent leaders to Hoffmann's campaign.

Mutter, who has built a reputation for integrity and successfully taken on difficult challenges over three terms as mayor of Cumberland, said Hoffmann's honesty, experience, and approach to the Attorney General's Office set him apart.

"I'm going to be straight with you — Keith Hoffmann is someone you can trust," Mutter said. "He has the integrity to do this job the right way, not for the powerful, but for the people."

Mutter pointed to the role the Attorney General's Office plays in supporting cities and towns, particularly in public safety, consumer protection, and issues impacting families.

"As Mayor, I need a partner at the Attorney General's Office who understands what communities like Cumberland are dealing with - keeping people safe, supporting our police, and making sure our schools are strong and our kids are protected," Mutter said. "Keith has the experience, the commitment to excellent work, the backbone to stand up when it matters, and the independence we need in our Attorney General."

Hoffmann has centered his campaign on standing up for Rhode Islanders to take on powerful interests and the many challenges facing our state-and he has the experience to back it up. He's fought the Trump Administration's overreach and extremism, fought to protect access to healthcare, and taken action to protect seniors from criminal scammers and to make our communities safer for all of us.

"I'm proud to have Mayor Mutter's support," Hoffmann said. "He's a leader who has never backed down from doing what's right for his community. I look forward to partnering with Mayor Mutter and other great municipal leaders in our state when I'm elected."

Hoffmann, a Rhode Island native currently living in Providence with his wife, Rachel, a physician at a community hospital, and two children, is the only candidate in the race to also be endorsed by current Attorney General Peter Neronha and former Attorney General Jim O'Neil.

Mayor Mutter's endorsement will be featured in a new digital video released by the campaign highlighting the Mayor's support, and why electing Hoffmann as the next Attorney General is the best way forward for Cumberland.
