Hoffmann Announces Support from Dozens of Leaders and Organizations as Early Voting Begins
Broad and growing coalition includes Attorney General Peter Neronha, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, former National Association of Attorneys General President and former D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine, organized labor, state and local elected officials, and community leaders
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — As early voting begins today in Rhode Island’s Democratic primary, the Keith Hoffmann for Attorney General campaign announced endorsements from more than 50 national, state, and local leaders and organizations—including many supporters being announced for the first time.
The broad and growing coalition includes U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha, former Rhode Island Attorney General James O’Neil, former National Association of Attorneys General President and District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine, major labor organizations, and more than two dozen current and former elected officials from across Rhode Island.
“At a time when Donald Trump is attacking the rule of law and giant corporations are driving up the cost of health care and everyday necessities, Rhode Islanders need an Attorney General who can take on those fights on day one,” said Hoffmann. “I’m proud to have earned the support of leaders and organizations who know my record, share my commitment to protecting Rhode Islanders, and know I’m ready to do the job.”
Among the newly announced endorsers is Racine, who worked closely with Hoffmann during his service in the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.
“I worked closely with Keith and know firsthand that he is experienced, battle-tested, and will stand up for the people of Rhode Island,” said Racine.
Hoffmann spent seven years in the Attorney General’s Office, where he was repeatedly promoted to major leadership positions, helped build the Public Protection Bureau, defended Rhode Island’s gun-safety laws, fought for access to health care and public safety, and worked tirelessly to secure accountability from powerful corporate interests and the Trump administration. He would become Rhode Island’s first millennial Attorney General.
