Hoffmann Campaign Reports Strongest First Quarter Fundraising in Attorney General Race, Leads Field with Cash on Hand

Campaign posts best fundraising quarter, fueled by growing grassroots and statewide support, and is in the strongest financial position of any Attorney General campaign at this point in the cycle

PROVIDENCE, RI — The campaign to elect Keith Hoffmann as Rhode Island’s next Attorney General announced today that it raised more than $269,000 in the first quarter of 2026, the strongest quarterly fundraising performance in the Democratic primary field.

According to campaign finance filings, Hoffmann now holds the largest cash-on-hand total in the Attorney General race, ending the reporting period with more than $546,000 on hand, giving the campaign a growing financial advantage as it continues to build statewide support.

The latest filing also marks another milestone for the Hoffmann campaign, which raised the most funds of any Attorney General candidate in 2025 and now leads the field again in the first quarter of 2026.

“This campaign continues to grow because Rhode Islanders want an Attorney General who is ready on day one to protect consumers and healthcare access, keep communities safe, and hold the federal government accountable when it breaks the law,” said Hoffmann. “We’ve built momentum by showing up, listening, and bringing together supporters from every corner of our state who want honest, strong, independent leadership.”

The quarter was fueled by a series of successful events across Rhode Island, and that momentum has continued this week with a packed-house fundraiser in the Blackstone Valley hosted by local leaders and supporters. The event at the Cumberland House of Pizza (CHOPS), one of the top pizzerias in New England, reflected growing enthusiasm and expanding support from elected officials, labor leaders, attorneys, community advocates, and everyday Rhode Islanders from across our state.

Recent supporters contributing to the campaign include:

  • Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha

  • Former New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin

  • Miriam Weizenbaum, who leads the Lawyers’ Committee for Rhode Island

  • East Greenwich Town Council President Mark Schwager

  • RI AFT Retiree President Roger Boudreau

  • Community leader and advocate Donnie Anderson

Hoffmann has built his campaign around the belief that the Attorney General should continue to lead the People's Law Firm and serve as a top cop who exercises independence and integrity — protecting families, consumers, seniors, and vulnerable communities while taking on fraud, violent crime, and abuses of power.
